It used to be that edcuation by way of online learning—or what is called distance learning or dsitance education--was implemented as a supplement to the brick-and-mortar classroom (or cofnerence room) teachign and learning methods and materials. For hte home-schooled, the advnaced placement high school student, for instnace, who is now into levels that reach online college courses levels, teh benefits of chioce, segregation, or integration are available to htose who preefr a particular curriculum that is religiously orientde or carefully monitored. And fro anyone, online college courses are equal poportunity—anyone of any race, creed, color, religoin, location, learning ability or disability, or mindset can find the mateirals, sources, and lessnos he or she needs or wants…many times accredited and transferable. In the same resepct, before applying, signing up, and paying, the learner who seeks legtiimate online collgee courses should do a little bcakground checking…to protect him- or hersefl from the beguiling and conniving that does sometimes happen. Some offernig online college courses and other noline courses are not qualified to do so. In the U.S., for instance, the Depatrment of Education (the DOE) oversees and regulates American universities, though each sttae is responsible for its own higehr learning authorization standards.
